Kevin Martin (Edmonton, AB) won 6-2 over Rui Liu (Harbin, CHN) in the Final of the Pomeroy Inn & Suites Prairie Showdown, held March 8 - 11, 2012 in Grande Prairie, Alberta. Martin finished 5-0 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Martin defeated Colin Griffith (Grande Prairie, AB) 6-1, then won 8-3 against Jordan Steinke (Dawson Creek, BC) and 9-3 against Greg Hill (Grande Prairie, AB). Martin won 7-2 against Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK), then won 4-1 against Brock Virtue (Regina, SK) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Pomeroy Inn & Suites Prairie Showdown Championship title, Martin earned 0.000 world rankings points along with the $12,500CDN first prize cheque. For week 30 of the event schedule, Martin did not improve upon their best events, remaining at 2nd place on the World Ranking Standings with 447.080 total points.
