Fenson won 7-5 against Todd Birr (Mankato, MN), then won 7-2 against Sean Murray (Rochester, NY) and 6-5 against Ryan Berg (West Fargo, ND). Fenson went on to lose 9-1 against Mike Farbelow (Minneapolis, MN). Fenson responded with a 10-8 win over Derek Surka (New Haven, CT) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the USA Men's Challenge Round Championship title, Fenson earned 4.000 world rankings points, moving up 56 spots the World Ranking Standings into 142nd place overall with 9.025 total points. Fenson ranks 107th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 7.275 points earned so far this season.
