Brewster went on to lose 8-1 against Logan Gray (Stirling, SCO). Brewster responded with a 6-2 win over David Murdoch (Lockerbie, SCO). Brewster won 9-5 against Ewan MacDonald (Inverness, SCO), then won 8-5 against John Hamilton (Edinburgh, SCO) and 13-7 against Murray Young (Forfar, SCO). Brewster went on to lose 6-3 against Smith. Brewster responded with a 6-5 win over David Edwards (Aberdeen, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.

Brewster earned 8.160 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. Brewster move up 1 spots after posting a net gain of 6.33 points improving upon their best results so far this season, ranking 14th overall with 148.435 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Brewster ranks 14th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 81.545 points earned so far this season.
