8-7 to Duncan Gracie (Lockerbie, SCO), then responded with a 6-1 win over Graeme MacKenzie (Inverness, SCO). Menzies won 9-4 against Struan Macnee (Edinburgh, SCO). Menzies went on to lose 7-5 against Ewan MacDonald (Inverness, SCO). Menzies responded with a 9-6 win over Sandy Reid (Forfar, SCO). Menzies won 12-4 against Frazer Hare (Stranraer, SCO), then won 6-5 against Blair Fraser (Inverness, SCO). Menzies went on to lose 7-5 against John Hamilton (Edinburgh, SCO). Menzies lost 5-4 to Gary Cannell (Braehead, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
