In their opening game, Fraser lost 8-7 to Logan Gray (Stirling, SCO), droppimg another game, 8-1 to David Hay (Perth, SCO) where Fraser responded with a 8-1 win over Graeme Black (Lockerbie, SCO). Fraser went on to lose 7-6 against Allan Manuel (Greenacres, SCO). Fraser lost 5-3 to Bruce Mouat (Edinburgh, SCO) where Fraser responded with a 5-4 win over David Edwards (Aberdeen, SCO). Fraser won 7-3 against Allan Gillies (Greenacres, SCO), then won 8-2 against Graham Shedden (Greenacres, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
