Scott Smith ( Calgary, AB) lost 6-3 to Kyler Kleibrink (Okotoks, AB) in the Final of the Men's Players Championship, held March 9 - 11, 2012 in Okotoks, Alberta. To advance to the championship game, Smith won 5-2 over Dylan Theroux (Edmonton, AB) in the semifinals
 
Smith finished 2-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Smith defeated Spencer Higgs (Calgary, AB) 6-5, then won 8-2 against Andrew Schiiler (Edmonton, AB). Smith went on to lose 5-4 against Kleibrink in their final qualifying round match.
