Tirinzoni won 9-5 against Michele Jaeggi (Bern, SUI), then won 8-6 against Duenki and 10-5 against Wild. Tirinzoni won 8-3 against Feltscher. Tirinzoni went on to lose 11-4 against Ott. Tirinzoni lost 9-2 to Jaeggi in their final qualifying round match.
