Ulsrud went on to lose 7-3 against Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK). Ulsrud responded with a 6-5 win over Manitoba's William Lyburn. Ulsrud went on to lose 6-4 against British Columbia's Brent Pierce in their final qualifying round match.
