McEwen went on to lose 6-4 against Jeff Stoughton (winnipeg, MB). McEwen responded with a 6-2 win over John Epping (Toronto, ON). McEwen won 7-1 against Kevin Martin (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
McEwen earned 15.000 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Canad Inns Prairie Classic, dropping 1 spots on the World Ranking Standings into 3rd place overall with 272.810 total points.
