Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) lost 6-5 to John Epping (Toronto, ON) in the Final of the Point Optical Curling Classic, held September 21 - 24, 2012 at the Nutana Curling Club in Saskatoon, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Koe won 5-4 over Kevin Martin (Edmonton, AB) in the semifinals of the 2012 Point Optical Curling Classic in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada; and won 5-3 over John Shuster (Duluth, MN) in the quarterfinals. of the 2012 Point Optical Curling Classic in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada;
 
Koe finished 5-1 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Koe defeated Peter de Cruz (Geneve, SUI) 8-4, then won 6-5 against Scott Bitz (Regina, SK) and 7-4 against Randy Woytowich (Saskatoon, SK). Koe went on to lose 7-5 against Martin. Koe responded with a 5-4 win over Epping. Koe won 5-4 against Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Point Optical Curling Classic, Koe take home 25.000 world rankings points along with the $8,000CDN prize, remaining in 6th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 202.640 total points. Koe ranks 2nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 43.680 points earned so far this season.
