In their opening game, Jacobson lost 8-7 to Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN), droppimg another game, 4-2 to Sven Michel (Adelboden, SUI) where Jacobson responded with a 6-5 win over Joel Jordison (Moose Jaw, SK). Jacobson won 7-2 against Randy Woytowich (Saskatoon, SK), then won 7-2 against Bruce Korte (Saskatoon, SK) and 5-4 against Dejia Zou (Harbin, CHN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Jacobson earned 15.000 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Point Optical Curling Classic, moving up 68 spots the World Ranking Standings into 54th place overall with 21.212 total points. Jacobson ranks 16th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 15.000 points earned so far this season.
