Coutts advanced through the quarterfinals with a 5-4 win over Rui Liu (Harbin, CHN). of the 2012 Horizon Laser Vision Center Classic in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada;

Coutts finished 3-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Coutts defeated Jason Jacobson (Saskatoon, SK) 8-1, then won 7-3 against Clint Krismer (Regina, SK). Coutts went on to lose 4-3 against Dejia Zou (Harbin, CHN). Coutts lost 5-1 to Liu where Coutts responded with a 7-2 win over Michelle Englot (Regina, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
