Ontario's Greg Balsdon finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ontario's Greg Balsdon defeated Al Corbeil (Barrie, ON) 4-2, then won 7-2 against Daryl Shane (Waterloo, ON).
