To advance to the championship game, Ferris won 4-1 over Ian Robertson (Dundas, ON) in the semifinals of the 2012 CookstownCash presented by Comco Canada Inc in Cookstown, Ontario, Canada; and won 8-3 over Bill Irwin (Barrie, ON) in the quarterfinals. of the 2012 CookstownCash presented by Comco Canada Inc in Cookstown, Ontario, Canada;
 
Ferris finished 4-0 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ferris defeated Jeremy Roe (Madison, WI) 8-2, then won 8-4 against Jon St. Denis (Stouffville, ON) and 5-4 against Gord Thompson (Stroud, ON). Ferris won 7-1 against Don Campbell (Barrie, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the CookstownCash presented by Comco Canada Inc Championship title, Ferris earned 2.500 world rankings points along with the $4,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 20 spots the World Ranking Standings into 113th place overall with 9.226 total points. Ferris ranks 59th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 9.038 points earned so far this season.
