To advance to the championship game, Ontario's Greg Balsdon won 5-2 over Ontario's Jake Higgs in the semifinals of the 2012 KW Fall Classic in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario; and won 4-3 over Ontario's Rob Rumfeldt in the quarterfinals.
