Dropkin finished 3-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Dropkin lost 7-2 to Brown, then responded with a 7-2 win over Nicholas Visnich (Pittsburgh, PA). Dropkin won 6-4 against Cory Christensen (Duluth, MN), then won 11-5 against Ben Bevan (Ajax, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
