MacAulay finished 5-0 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, MacAulay defeated Spencer Cooper (Ottawa, ON) 6-3, then won 9-5 against Gary Rowe (Ottawa, ON) and 5-2 against Ron Hrycak (Ottawa, ON). MacAulay won 8-2 against Mark Homan (Ottawa, ON), then won 8-6 against Howard Rajala (Ottawa, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Mac Ice Classic Championship title, MacAulay earned 5.550 world rankings points along with the $5,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 8 spots the World Ranking Standings into 59th place overall with 21.025 total points. MacAulay ranks 40th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 10.600 points earned so far this season.
