Jean-Michel Menard (Quebec, PQ) run at the 2012 Mac Ice Classic came to an end in the semifinals with a 4-3 loss to Trevor Bonot (Thunder Bay, ON). of the 2012 Mac Ice Classic in Ottawa, Ontario; Menard advanced through the quarterfinals with a 4-3 win over Howard Rajala (Ottawa, ON). of the 2012 Mac Ice Classic in Ottawa, Ontario;
 
Menard finished 4-1 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Menard defeated Matt Dumontelle (Sudbury, NONT) 7-2, then won 5-4 against Mike Bryson (Toronto, ON) and 6-3 against Michael Fournier (Montreal, PQ). Menard went on to lose 6-1 against Philippe Lemay (Trois-Rivieres, PQ). Menard responded with a 7-6 win over Bonot in their final qualifying round match.
