Rachel Homan (Ottawa, ON) lost 6-4 to Stefanie Lawton (Saskatoon, SK) in the Final of the Manitoba Lotteries Womens Curling Classic, held October 19 - 22, 2012 at the Fort Rouge Curling Club in Winnipeg, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Homan won 6-3 over Cheryl Bernard (Calgary, AB) in the semifinals of the 2012 Manitoba Lotteries Womens Curling Classic in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; and won 5-2 over Barb Spencer (Winnipeg, MB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2012 Manitoba Lotteries Womens Curling Classic in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada;

Homan finished 5-1 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Homan defeated Jessie Kaufman (Edmonton, AB) 7-5, then won 7-5 against Heather Nedohin (Edmonton, AB). Homan went on to lose 8-4 against Margaretha Sigfridsson (Skelleftea, SWE). Homan responded with a 4-3 win over Tracy Horgan (Sudbury, ON). Homan won 9-3 against Kelly Scott (Kelowna, BC), then won 5-4 against Lawton in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Manitoba Lotteries Womens Curling Classic, Homan take home 27.000 world rankings points along with the $10,500CDN prize, moving up 2 spots the World Ranking Standings into 16th place overall with 101.106 total points. Homan ranks 5th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 57.911 points earned so far this season.
