Stoughton responded with a 7-5 win over Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Capital One Canada Cup of Curling Championship title, Stoughton earned 45.000 world rankings points along with the $24,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 2 spots the World Ranking Standings into 5th place overall with 302.562 total points.
