To advance to the championship game, Abbis-Mills won 5-4 over John Grant (Toronto, ON) in the semifinals of the 2012 Brantford Nissan Classic in Brantford, Ontario, Canada; and won 8-4 over Craig Kochan (Kapuskasing, ON) in the quarterfinals.
 
Abbis-Mills finished 3-0 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Abbis-Mills defeated Rick Law (Kingsville, ON) 7-3, then won 6-3 against Brad Hertner (Brantford, ON) and 8-5 against Peter Corner (Brampton, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Brantford Nissan Classic, Abbis-Mills take home 9.275 world rankings points along with the $3,500CDN prize, moving up 29 spots the World Ranking Standings into 73rd place overall with 22.482 total points. Abbis-Mills ranks 54th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 14.275 points earned so far this season.
