Tyler George (Duluth, MN) won 5-1 over Todd Birr (Mankato, MN) in the Final of the Iron Trail Motors Shoot-Out @ Curl Mesabi, held December 14 - 16, 2012 at the Curl Mesabi in Eveleth, United States. To advance to the championship game, George won 6-5 over Al Hackner (Thunder Bay , NONT) in the semifinals of the 2012 Iron Trail Motors Shoot-Out @ Curl Mesabi in Eveleth, Minnesota, United States; and won 8-1 over Pete Fenson (Bemidji, MN) in the quarterfinals.

George finished 4-0 in the 30-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, George defeated Dave Jensen (Bismarck, ND) 9-3, then won 6-3 against Jeff Puleo (Forest Lake, MN) and 5-3 against Korey Dropkin (Southborough, MA). George won 6-5 against Matt Stevens (Bemidji, MN) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Iron Trail Motors Shoot-Out @ Curl Mesabi Championship title, George earned 6.000 world rankings points along with the $5,902CDN first prize cheque, moving up 2 spots the World Ranking Standings into 40th place overall with 46.687 total points. George ranks 42nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 20.250 points earned so far this season.
