Jim Cotter (Kelowna/Vernon, BC) won 7-3 over Jamie King (Edmonton, AB) in the Final of the Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic, held September 28 - October 1, 2012 at the Vernon Curling Club in Vernon, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Cotter won 6-3 over Steve Petryk (Calgary, AB) in the semifinals of the 2012 Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada; and won 6-2 over Pete Fenson (Bemidji, MN) in the quarterfinals. of the 2012 Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada;
 
Cotter finished 3-2 in the 22-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Cotter lost 6-5 to Matthew Blandford (Calgary, AB), droppimg another game, 6-5 to Sean Geall (New Westminster, BC) where Cotter responded with a 8-4 win over Deane Horning (Vernon, BC). Cotter won 7-6 against Chang-Min Kim (Gyeongbuk Uiseong, KOR), then won 7-3 against Brent Pierce (New Westminster, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic Championship title, Cotter earned 8.350 world rankings points along with the $7,500CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 18th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 71.859 total points. Cotter ranks 32nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 8.350 points earned so far this season.
