To advance to the championship game, King won 6-2 over Jay Wakefield (New Westminster, BC) in the semifinals of the 2012 Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada; and won 5-4 over Sean Geall (New Westminster, BC) in the quarterfinals. of the 2012 Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada;
 
King finished 4-2 in the 22-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, King defeated Ken McArdle (New Westminster, BC) 6-1, then won 7-5 against Pete Fenson (Bemidji, MN). King went on to lose 7-5 against Wakefield. King lost 9-4 to Fenson where King responded with a 7-6 win over Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN). King won 7-4 against Trevor Perepolkin (Vernon, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic, King take home 5.845 world rankings points along with the $5,500CDN prize, moving up 7 spots the World Ranking Standings into 38th place overall with 30.288 total points. King ranks 10th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 19.845 points earned so far this season.
