Yilun Jiang (Harbin, CHN) finished 4-3 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Jiang defeated
Lisa Eyamie (High River, AB) 6-2, then went on to lose 8-0 against Marla Mallett (Cloverdale, BC). Jiang lost 9-3 to Roberta Kuhn (Vernon, BC) where Jiang responded with a 7-6 win over Japan's Sayaka Yoshimura. Jiang won 7-2 against Ayumi Ogasawara (Kariuzawa, JPN), then won 7-3 against Marilou Richter (New Westminster, BC). Jiang went on to lose 8-1 against Lene Nielsen (Hvidovre, DEN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Jiang earned 0.550 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 4 spots the World Ranking Standings into 138th place overall with 2.625 total points. Jiang ranks 71st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 2.625 points earned so far this season.
