Ayumi Ogasawara (Kariuzawa, JPN) qualified for the 2012 MNP Charity Classic playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 6-4 against Amy Nixon (Calgary/Red Deer, AB). of the 2012 MNP Charity Classic in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada;
 
Ogasawara finished 4-2 in the 28-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ogasawara lost 7-6 to Chantelle Eberle (Regina, SK), droppimg another game, 6-5 to Chana Martineau (Edmonton, AB) where Ogasawara responded with a 7-6 win over Yilun Jiang (Harbin, CHN). Ogasawara won 7-2 against Penny Barker (Moose Jaw, SK), then won 7-4 against Brett Barber (Biggar, SK) and 8-3 against Lindsay Makichuk (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Ogasawara earned 3.375 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the MNP Charity Classic. For week 9 of the event schedule, Ogasawara did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Ogasawara ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
