To advance to the championship game, Birr won 8-2 over Mike Wood (Victoria, BC) in the semifinals of the 2012 Seattle Cash Spiel in Seattle, Washington; and won 5-2 over Jason Montgomery (Duncan, BC) in the quarterfinals. of the 2012 Seattle Cash Spiel in Seattle, Washington;
 
Birr finished 3-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Birr defeated Mike Calcagno (Seattle, WA) 9-5, then won 6-5 against Mark Johnson (Seattle, WA). Birr went on to lose 9-2 against British Columbia's Jody Epp. Birr responded with a 6-0 win over Wes Craig (Victora, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Seattle Cash Spiel Championship title, Birr earned 2.500 world rankings points along with the $2,979CDN first prize cheque, moving up 6 spots the World Ranking Standings into 77th place overall with 20.244 total points. Birr ranks 93rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 6.350 points earned so far this season.
