Backe finished 3-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Backe defeated Penny Shantz (Vernon, BC) 7-3, then won 7-5 against Jensen. Backe went on to lose 10-6 against Ayumi Ogasawara (Kariuzawa, JPN). Backe responded with a 10-4 win over Brandi Tinkler (Victoria, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Backe earned 0.750 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Vancouver Island Shootout. For week 13 of the event schedule, Backe did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points.
