Heather Jensen (Airdrie, AB) lost 5-3 to Roberta Kuhn (Vernon, BC) in the Final of the Vancouver Island Shootout, held November 9 - 12, 2012 at the Victoria Curling Club in Victoria, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Jensen won 7-2 over Marla Mallett (Cloverdale, BC) in the semifinals of the 2012 Vancouver Island Shootout in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada; and won 9-4 over Nicole Backe (Nanaimo, BC) in the quarterfinals. of the 2012 Vancouver Island Shootout in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada;
 
Jensen finished 5-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Jensen defeated Dezaray Hawes (New Westminster, BC) 6-0, then went on to lose 7-5 against Backe. Jensen lost 5-4 to Marilou Richter (New Westminster, BC) where Jensen responded with a 8-1 win over Lindsay Makichuk (Edmonton, AB). Jensen won 9-5 against Penny Shantz (Vernon, BC), then won 7-1 against Nicole Montgomery (New Westminster, BC) and 5-1 against Adina Tasaka (New Westminster, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Vancouver Island Shootout, Jensen take home 1.750 world rankings points along with the $2,500CDN prize, moving up 14 spots the World Ranking Standings into 94th place overall with 6.750 total points. Jensen ranks 49th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 6.750 points earned so far this season.
