Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) qualified for the 2012 Baden Masters playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 5-3 against Switzerland's Peter de Cruz.
 
Gushue finished 3-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gushue defeated Alexey Tselousov (Moscow, RUS) 8-5, then won 7-6 against Switzerland's Marc Pfister. Gushue went on to lose 8-4 against Rasmus Stjerne (Hvidovre, DEN). Gushue responded with a 9-5 win over Switzerland's Bernhard Werthemann in their final qualifying round match.
 
Gushue earned 8.750 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Baden Masters, remaining in 11th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 110.466 total points. Gushue ranks 5th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 8.750 points earned so far this season.
