Thomas Ulsrud (oslo, NOR) won 7-2 over Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB) in the Final of the Mercure Perth Masters, held January 3 - 6, 2013 in Perth, Scotland. To advance to the championship game, Ulsrud won 5-4 over Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) in the semifinals of the 2013 Mercure Perth Masters in Perth, Scotland; and won 8-1 over Alexey Tselousov (Moscow, RUS) in the quarterfinals.
 
Ulsrud finished 4-0 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ulsrud defeated Graham Shaw (Perth, SCO) 8-5, then won 7-2 against Pete Fenson (Bemidji, MN) and 7-4 against Glen Muirhead (Perth, SCO). Ulsrud won 4-3 against David Edwards (Aberdeen, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Mercure Perth Masters Championship title, Ulsrud earned 0.000 world rankings points along with the $9,505CDN first prize cheque. For week 21 of the event schedule, Ulsrud did not improve upon their best events, dropping from 9th to 10th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 185.827 total points. Ulsrud ranks 13th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 66.313 points earned so far this season.
