Assad went on to lose 5-3 against Art Lappalainen (Thunder Bay, NONT) in their final qualifying round match.

Assad earned 1.125 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Courtesy Freight Northern Ontario Superspiel, moving up 20 spots the World Ranking Standings into 176th place overall with 4.601 total points. Assad ranks 180th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 1.125 points earned so far this season.
