Fenson finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Fenson lost 7-4 to Brennan Wark (Thunder Bay, ON), then responded with a 9-1 win over Jeff MacDonald (Thunder Bay, ON). Fenson won 7-6 against Bryan Burgess (Thunder Bay, ), then won 7-4 against Northern Ontario's Brian Adams Jr. and 7-1 against Ron Kowalchuk (Thunder Bay, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Fenson earned 1.875 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Courtesy Freight Northern Ontario Superspiel.
