Steve Petryk (Calgary, AB) won 6-3 over Robert Schlender (Edmonton, AB) in the Final of the Original 16 WCT Bonspiel, held November 9 - 11, 2012 in Calgary, Alberta. To advance to the championship game, Petryk won 5-4 over Sean O'Connor (Calgary, AB) in the semifinals of the 2012 Original 16 WCT Bonspiel in Calgary, Alberta; and won 6-4 over Rick McKague (Edmonton, AB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2012 Original 16 WCT Bonspiel in Calgary, Alberta;

Petryk finished 3-2 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Petryk defeated Bert Martin (Airdrie, AB) 5-2, then won 6-3 against Justin Sluchinski (Airdrie, AB). Petryk went on to lose 5-4 against Kevin Yablonski (Calgary, AB). Petryk lost 7-5 to Kevin Park (Edmonton, AB) where Petryk responded with a 7-5 win over Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Original 16 WCT Bonspiel Championship title, Petryk earned 9.750 world rankings points along with the $5,550CDN first prize cheque, moving up 5 spots the World Ranking Standings into 31st place overall with 50.656 total points. Petryk ranks 25th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 27.781 points earned so far this season.
