Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB) qualified for the 2012 Original 16 WCT Bonspiel playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 6-5 against Jamie Koe (Yellowknife, NT). of the 2012 Original 16 WCT Bonspiel in Calgary, Alberta;
 
Bottcher finished 3-2 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Bottcher defeated Justin Sluchinski (Airdrie, AB) 6-1, then won 6-1 against Kevin Park (Edmonton, AB). Bottcher went on to lose 10-2 against Bert Martin (Airdrie, AB). Bottcher responded with a 7-1 win over Kevin Yablonski (Calgary, AB). Bottcher went on to lose 7-5 against Steve Petryk (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Bottcher earned 2.925 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Original 16 WCT Bonspiel, remaining in 30th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 55.030 total points. Bottcher ranks 20th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 32.575 points earned so far this season.
