Carey went on to lose 5-4 against Crystal Webster (Calgary, AB). Carey responded with a 6-4 win over Renee Sonnenberg (Grande Prairie, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

Carey earned 20.000 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Pomeroy Inn & Suites Prairie Showdown, moving up 3 spots the World Ranking Standings into 7th place overall with 225.700 total points. Carey ranks 6th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 130.000 points earned so far this season.
