In their opening game, Kauste lost 7-6 to Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE), droppimg another game, 8-6 to Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, CAN). Kauste lost 9-2 to Rasmus Stjerne (Hvidovre, DEN). Kauste lost 7-4 to Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR) where Kauste responded with a 6-5 win over Yusuke Morozumi (Kariuzawa, JPN). Kauste went on to lose 7-6 against Andrey Drozdov (Moscow, RUS). Kauste lost 7-5 to Sven Michel (Adelboden, SUI). Kauste lost 7-6 to Brady Clark (Seattle, USA). Kauste lost 9-6 to Jiri Snitil (Praha, CZE) where Kauste responded with a 10-9 win over David Murdoch (Aberdeen, SCO). Kauste went on to lose 8-5 against Rui Liu (Harbin, CHN) in their final qualifying round match.

Kauste earned 4.000 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 34 of the event schedule, Kauste did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Kauste ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
