Kyle Smith (Perth, SCO) won 6-2 over Evgeniy Arkhipov (Moscow, RUS) in the Final of the World Junior Curling Championships, held February 28 - March 10, 2013 in Sochi, Russia.
 
Smith finished 8-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Smith defeated Dongxu Jiang (Harbin, CHN) 7-6, then won 9-3 against Andre Neuenschwander (Zurich, SUI) and 7-6 against Matt Dunstone (Winnipeg, CAN). Smith won 7-5 against Amos Mosaner (Cortina d'Ampezzo, ITA), then won 9-3 against Eirik Mjoen (Oslo, NOR). Smith went on to lose 5-4 against Arkhipov. Smith responded with a 6-5 win over Gustav Eskilsson (Malung, SWE). Smith won 5-4 against Marek Cernovsky (Praha, CZE), then won 8-3 against Korey Dropkin (Wayland, USA) in their final qualifying round match.
