Alina Kovaleva (Moscow, RUS) won 6-5 over Hannah Fleming (Perth, SCO) in the Final of the World Junior Curling Championships, held February 28 - March 10, 2013 in Sochi, Russia.
 
Kovaleva finished 5-4 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kovaleva defeated Kristine Davanger (Oslo, NOR) 7-5, then went on to lose 7-4 against Fleming. Kovaleva lost 5-4 to Sayaka Yoshimura (Aomori, JPN) where Kovaleva responded with a 9-3 win over Corryn Brown (Kamloops, CAN). Kovaleva won 8-5 against Sara McManus (Harnosand, SWE), then won 9-3 against Miranda Solem (Duluth, USA). Kovaleva went on to lose 7-5 against Switzerland's Michelle Gribi. Kovaleva responded with a 9-3 win over Stephanie Nielsen (Hvidovre, DEN). Kovaleva went on to lose 7-3 against Zuzana Hajkova (Praha, CZE) in their final qualifying round match.
