In their opening game, Sweden's Margaretha Sigfridsson defeated Latvia's Iveta Stasa-Sarsune 7-4, then won 11-2 against Muirhead and 9-8 against Erika Brown (Madison, USA). Sweden's Margaretha Sigfridsson won 9-0 against Silvana Tirinzoni (Aarau, SUI), then won 5-4 against Denmark's Lene Nielsen. Sweden's Margaretha Sigfridsson went on to lose 6-4 against Bingyu Wang (Harbin, CHN). Sweden's Margaretha Sigfridsson responded with a 8-4 win over Rachel Homan (Ottawa, CAN).
