Birt finished 4-0 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Birt defeated Lisa Jackson (Charlottetown, PEI) 8-2, then won 7-3 against Tammy Dewar (Montague, PEI) and 6-2 against Dolan. Birt won 9-6 against Kathy O'Rourke (Charlottetown, PEI) in their final qualifying round match.
