Joe Frans (Bradford, ON) lost 7-5 to Glenn Howard (Coldwater, ON) in the Final of the The Dominion Tankard, held February 4 - 10, 2013 in Barrie, Ontario.

Frans finished 8-2 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Frans defeated Dayna Deruelle (Brampton, ON) 7-2, then went on to lose 7-5 against John Epping (Toronto, ON). Frans lost 8-2 to Jake Higgs (Harriston, ON) where Frans responded with a 9-4 win over Darryl Prebble (Toronto, ON). Frans won 8-3 against Howard, then won 6-2 against Bryan Cochrane (Ottawa, ON) and 9-6 against Wayne Tuck Jr. (Brantford, ON). Frans won 9-8 against Rob Rumfeldt (Guelph, ON), then won 6-4 against Pat Ferris (Grimsby, ON) and 8-3 against Howard Rajala (Ottawa, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
