Holly Whyte (Edmonton, AB) lost 8-7 to Tiffany Steuber (Edmonton, AB) in the Final of the Spruce Grove Cashspiel, held November 23 - 25, 2012 at the Spruce Grove Curling Club in Spruce Grove, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Whyte won 6-3 over Lisa Johnson (Spruce Grove, AB) in the semifinals of the 2012 Spruce Grove Cashspiel in Spruce Grove, Alberta, Canada; and won 5-3 over Teryn Hamilton (Lethbridge, AB) in the quarterfinals.
 
Whyte finished 2-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Whyte defeated Tiffany Game (Edmonton, AB) 7-3, then went on to lose 6-4 against Steuber. Whyte responded with a 4-2 win over Brittany Gregor (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Spruce Grove Cashspiel, Whyte take home 2.870 world rankings points along with the $1,200CDN prize. For week 15 of the event schedule, Whyte did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Whyte ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
