To advance to the championship game, Rogers won 5-4 over Shawn Donnelly (Edmonton, AB) in the semifinals of the 2012 Spruce Grove Cashspiel in Spruce Grove, Alberta, Canada; and won 5-4 over Wade White (Edmonton, AB) in the quarterfinals.

Rogers finished 2-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Rogers lost 6-3 to Curtis Harrish (Edmonton, AB), then responded with a 9-5 win over Greg Hill (Airdrie, AB). Rogers won 4-3 against Glen Hanson (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Spruce Grove Cashspiel Championship title, Rogers earned 2.750 world rankings points along with the $2,100CDN first prize cheque.
