Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) qualified for the 2012 Canadian Open of Curling playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 6-5 against Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste. Marie, ON). of the 2012 Canadian Open of Curling in Kelowna, British Columbia;
 
Koe finished 3-2 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Koe lost 6-5 to Jim Cotter (Kelowna/Vernon, BC), then responded with a 6-4 win over Jake Higgs (Harriston, ON). Koe won 7-6 against John Epping (Toronto, ON). Koe went on to lose 8-4 against Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK). Koe responded with a 5-4 win over Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Koe earned 18.000 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Canadian Open of Curling, remaining in 3rd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 6.625 after improving upon their best so far this season. Koe ranks 1st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 206.280 points earned so far this season.
