Grant Hardie (Dumfries, SCO) lost 5-4 to Warwick Smith (Perth, SCO) in the Final of the Stirling Invitational, held November 30 - December 2, 2012 in Stirling, Scotland. To advance to the championship game, Hardie won 5-4 over Scotland's Frazer Hare in the semifinals of the 2012 Stirling Invitational in Stirling, Scotland; and won 6-5 over Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO) in the quarterfinals.
 
Hardie finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hardie lost 3-1 to Smith, then responded with a 7-3 win over Graeme Black (Perth, SCO). Hardie won 8-2 against Mathias Genner (Kitzbuehel, AUT), then won 4-3 against Scotland's Bruce Mouat and 7-3 against Kelly Marnoch (Carberry, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Stirling Invitational, Hardie take home 3.920 world rankings points along with the $2,403CDN prize, moving up 12 spots the World Ranking Standings into 55th place overall with 28.176 total points. Hardie ranks 40th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 19.195 points earned so far this season.
