Hammy McMillan (Stranraer, SCO) qualified for the 2012 Stirling Invitational playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 5-3 against Warwick Smith (Perth, SCO). of the 2012 Stirling Invitational in Stirling, Scotland;

McMillan finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McMillan defeated England's Keith Wilson 7-4, then won 6-5 against Scotland's David Hay and 6-1 against Adrian Meikle (Hawarden, WAL). McMillan won 4-3 against Scotland's Alan Hannah. McMillan went on to lose 7-6 against Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
