To advance to the championship game, Fordyce won 5-4 over Meghan Armit (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2012 King Spud Classic in Carberry, Manitoba;
 
Fordyce finished 4-0 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Fordyce defeated Amanda Tymchuk (Winnipeg, MB) 9-6, then won 10-6 against Michelle Montford (Winnipeg, MB) and 6-5 against DeRiviere. Fordyce won 7-5 against Deb Collyer (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
