Sipe finished 4-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sipe lost 11-1 to Kellie Henricks (Grande Prairie, AB), then responded with a 7-5 win over Colette Trudeau (Grande Prairie, AB). Sipe went on to lose 5-3 against Dale Anderson (Grande Prairie, AB). Sipe responded with a 9-4 win over Mark Luckwell (Grande Prairie, AB). Sipe won 9-4 against Donald Dumont (Falher, AB), then won 7-2 against Elaine Laurin (Grande Prairie, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
