In their opening game, Scott lost 9-3 to Kevin Kakela (Rolla, ND), droppimg another game, 7-6 to Tyler Runing (Mankato, MN) where Scott responded with a 8-7 win over Chris Dolan (Minneapolis, MN). Scott went on to lose 8-7 against Jeff Puleo (Forest Lake, MN) in their final qualifying round match.
